What WWII aircraft used Allison 12 cylinder engines? - allison aircraft engines cylinder parts

P-40, P-38 (x2) Apache A36 (a ground attack version of the P-51A) F-51A. These were the main engine users online Allison.

No British planes used the Allison. We had used a couple of Mustangs (P-51As), but all P-51 used in the B-model God `s own engine, which is also known as Merlin, manufactured under license by Packard.

Packard The same engine is also produced in Canada, Avro Lancaster and the Spitfire Mark XVI manufactured at Castle Bromwich in the Midlands of England.

The list of all British aircraft, Rolls-Royce Merlin (some later Spitfire Griffon-powered).

The Merlin was built under license (with some minor changes) in the United States and became the Merlin and Packard was in most P-51 is installed. Some have been adapted for the Packard Merlin Lancaster bomber, but they need different services at RR engines, dspite essentially the same.

Merlin was that withdrew the P-51 a success, and early models Allison quickly because of poor results. The P-51 that, because actually a British specification was for a wide range of fighter-interceptor, and the lack of resources to produce this kind in the UK.
